Bikur Cholim arranges and provides transportation to and from medical facilities as well as all NYC hospitals for critical care patients.

Bikur Cholim prepares and delivers delicious, home cooked kosher meals to the doorsteps of patients and their families. Special preparation can be made for patients or families with dietary restrictions, allergies or other preferences.

Bikur Cholim provides hospital and home support for families of the ill. We send volunteers to visit and attend to patients at home or in the hospital. At home, services may include visiting, assisting with child-care or household maintenance, tutoring or entertaining children of the patient’s family. At the hospital, Bikur Cholim service may include visiting and providing company to the patient, or providing respite to parents of a child who is hospitalized, whether overnight or during the day. When necessary, Bikur Cholim can also provide paid professionals to deal with these tasks.

Shifrah & Puah, a branch of Bikur Cholim, is dedicated to easing a mother’s and her families’ adjustment after the birth of a new child. Shifrah & Puah volunteers deliver home cooked meals, help with arranging a bris, and prepare full layettes for those in need.

Bikur Cholim of Crown Heights has compiled an extensive database of doctors, hospitals, clinics, and various support services and relief organizations in the greater NY area in order to help patients find the right medical and support services that would speed their recovery.

Bikur Cholim has funding available to help families or individuals cover the costs of medical care that are not covered by insurance and would be otherwise unaffordable to them.
